Connecting Individuals with Disabilities with Compassionate Caregivers

What is a Shared Living?

BHN's Shared Living program connects adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with compassionate individuals or families in their local area for a long-term, in-home placement. BHN provides support to the individual and the hosting family throughout the process.

Shared Living builds and maintains strong connections within families and the community. Caregivers help participants stay healthy, get around town, manage their money, make friends, and be part of the community where they live. Participants benefit from personalized and adaptable support from dedicated caregivers in a private residence. This support allows them to engage more actively with their social circle and community, promoting greater self-assurance and independence.

Shared Living positively impacts the lives of individuals served, their caregivers, and the communities they are a part of.
