Referring Providers

BHN is committed to establishing strong partnerships with referring providers to help improve the lives of those we serve.

Behavioral Health Network is a leading provider of comprehensive behavioral health services for adults, children, and families in Western Massachusetts. Since its inception as the Child Guidance Clinic in 1938, BHN has expanded to become the largest behavioral health service provider in the region. We offer support, guidance, and tools to individuals facing challenges related to mental illness, substance use, or intellectual and developmental disabilities.

BHN annually serves 45,000 individuals through over 75 programs spanning Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, Berkshire, and Suffolk counties. All BHN programs offer support, guidance, and tools that help individuals make positive, life-altering changes.

Services include:

  • Mental Health

BHN offers many types of counseling programs and services for adults, youth, children, couples, and families with the support of our credentialed clinicians and accredited psychiatric providers.

  • Urgent Care & Crisis Services

Through our BHN Wellbeing community behavioral health centers, BHN provides same-day urgent care services seven days a week as well as 24-hour crisis assessment and stabilization for children, youth, and adults with urgent mental health or addiction needs. BHN also operates short-term residential crisis stabilization units for children, youth, and adults; and provides drop-in peer support seven days a week via The Living Room program.

  • Children, Youth & Families

Throughout Hampden County, BHN provides a wide range of in-home and community-based supports for children, youth, and families facing behavioral health and developmental challenges. Families take the lead in creating their path forward, with support from family partners who have walked similar paths, and other team members such as clinicians, therapeutic mentors, behavioral specialists, and med providers. Specialized programs are also available for court-involved youth and their families.

  • Addiction and Recovery

BHN offers inpatient and outpatient options for individuals needing medical and psychological stabilization through the challenging process of early recovery from addiction to opioid/non-opioid substances or alcohol. As individuals transition into long-term recovery, BHN offers support through therapy, medication management, and coaching services, as well as comprehensively supported residential recovery homes.

  • Developmental/Intellectual Disability Services

Staff provide support to individuals living in residential homes, with their families, or independently with day-to-day tasks, community integration, and quality-of-life enhancement.

  • Domestic Violence

BHN provides supportive individual and group services to help those who feel unsafe or are questioning the health of their dating or partner relationships. BHN is also a leading provider of Department of Public Health-certified accountability and change services for men who use violence in their relationships.

  • Care Management and Integrated Care

When more than one provider is delivering care to an individual or family, it is critical that all providers work together. BHN care coordinators, care managers, and nurse care managers do the complicated work of ensuring that primary care, behavioral health and specialty care providers for an individual are working with the same plan of support. BHN offers care management services for adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health diagnoses, forensically-involved adults with mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders. BHN also offers care management for adults and children with chronic medical concerns.

  • Forensic Services

BHN serves the Massachusetts Superior, District, and Juvenile Court systems by providing forensic evaluations in Adult and Juvenile Court Clinics located in all four Western Massachusetts counties. BHN also provides court clinicians and peer support staff for specialty court programs in the four Western Massachusetts counties.

We are committed to establishing strong partnerships with referring providers and look forward to collaborating with you and your team to provide the highest outcomes for those we serve. To refer a patient, please contact us or call (413) 301-9355
