Kamp for Kids Golf FUN-Raiser Celebrates 50 Years of Summer Fun for All Abilities

April 14, 2025

On April 10th Kamp for Kids celebrated a major milestone - 50 years of inclusive summer fun - with an evening of connection and community at our Golf FUN-raiser, held at Max’s Swing Lounge in Springfield. The event offered guests a chance to unwind with a virtual driving range and mini golf, food, fun and raffle prizes - all in support of a meaningful cause.

Founded in 1975, Kamp for Kids was the first program in Western Massachusetts to fully integrate children with and without disabilities into a traditional summer camp setting. The event honored that remarkable legacy while looking ahead to the future of building joyful, inclusive experiences for children of all abilities.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and donors, and the dedication of our amazing staff who brought the event to life, the Golf FUN-raiser was a resounding success, raising over $30,000 to support Kamp for Kids and the families we serve!

“Kamp has always been about creating a place where every child feels like they belong,” said Anne Benoit, Program Director. “Seeing so many people come together to celebrate 50 years and to support the future of Kamp was truly heartwarming. The impact of this event will be felt by the kids and families we serve for a long time to come.”

More than just a fundraiser, the evening served as a celebration of Kamp’s heart, history, and continued impact. Every contribution helps ensure that children and families will keep experiencing the joy, belonging, and lifelong memories that Kamp for Kids has created for 50 years and counting.

We’re excited to continue celebrating our 50th anniversary season with more special events, including a reunion later this summer for all former campers, families, donors and Kamp counselors. Stay tuned for the official dates - and we hope you’ll come back to Kamp and join the fun!  To receive updates about upcoming anniversary events, please email us with your name, email address, phone number, and your connection to Kamp. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

In honor of Developmental Disabilities Month, we celebrate the passion and dedication of our team members who work tirelessly to support individuals with developmental disabilities. We asked staff in our residential services program what motivates them, what they find most rewarding, and what advice they would give to others interested in joining this fulfilling field. Their answers provide a powerful glimpse into the meaningful work we do every day.
