The Living Room, a bright open space located at BHN’s main campus in Springfield, is for those coping with a behavioral health issue where peers are available to meet with guests of the program. Often, The Living Room provides a safe space, allowing for someone in crisis to connect with peers, avoiding the emergency room or hospitalization. The concept is to connect those in crisis with those who have been down a similar path and have an intimate understanding of what the struggle is like.
The Living Room is provided at no cost and is open to walk-ins daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and those needing more assistance are screened by a Living Room supervisor and may stay the night.
