- Family & Individual Advocacy: Provides advocacy supports to children and adults with disabilities. Sponsored by a grant from the Hampshire County United Way, this program provides advocacy in a variety of areas including education, employment, housing as well as resource referral. This program often serves as a point of entry to the service system and individuals are referred to programs that will better meet their needs.
- Open Door Club: this is a self-advocacy group for individuals with disabilities. This program is sponsored primarily by a grant from the Hampshire County United Way. BHN provides an advisor and Program Director to support the members in the group in running their own advocacy group. Meetings are held on Monday nights and include programs that are educational as well as social. Some recent events have included first aid training for members, a discussion on the voting process, a panel discussion with PVTA and a party. Members participate in regional, state and federal advocacy groups. Additionally, members have the opportunity to attend conferences about the self-advocacy movement.
*** Referrals for all services except Advocacy must be made by DDS, DMH, or the primary funding source. Services may be privately purchased by persons served or their family members. Contact the appropriate service area.
