The Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) program is a formal, 40-hour training to teach crisis resolution and de-escalation skills to police officers and dispatchers when responding to individuals experiencing emotional disturbances. CIT training helps police move community members away from arrest and toward community-based crisis services. Police Departments interested in learning more about CIT training and jail diversion programs may call BHN at (413) 301-9352.
